GLUTEAL AUGMENTATION

El aumento glúteo es un procedimiento que se puede hacer en combinacion con otros procedimientos con el uso de la grasa del mismo paciente para trasladarla a los gluteos y la cadera, o realizarse con implantes de van detras del músculo y prodcen resultados naturales y muy satisfactorios.

En el caso utilizar implantes es importante acudir con un especialista actualizado para que el resultado sea natural y no presente los estigmas evidentes de una cirugia artificial. Generalmente esta técnica es reservada para los pacientes que no tienen grasa o que requieren mayor volumen del disponible.

Sin embargo en algunos casos se puede realizar lo que se conoce como un procedimiento híbrido, donde se utiliza un implante pequeño y se pone grasa para armonizar el resultado.

¿QUE DEBO DE SABER?

La grasa que se inyecta en otro lugar corre el riesgo de re- absorberse y perderse parte del resultado, por lo que es posible que mas de una sesion sea necesaria. Sin embargo cuanto esto pasa generalmente no es mayor al 20% de lo inyectado, aunque si puede ser mas.

En caso de utilizar implantes la cicatriz queda oculta en el pliegue inter-glúteo y es muy importante su cuidado, ya que por la zona algunas cicatrices pueden presentar un sufrimiento que requieren de mayor paciencia para resorverse en un plazo de tiempo mayor.

Buttock surgery is basically divided into two main options:

1. lipoinjection (traditionally known as Brazilian buttlift), where fat is inyected above the gluteus muscle all the way through the hips if needed; and, on the other hand,

2. gluteal implants, where an implant is placed beneath the gluteal muscle, giving it a natural appearance. Often, both techniques are used in a combined or hybrid manner.

Unlike common belief, the result of a gluteal implant can be natural, and in a properly done surgery, people wouldn't be able to tell if someone has buttock surgery or if it's a natural, proper size.

When implants are used, the incision is vertical and located in the space between the gluteus.

After a month, the patient can return to his normal physical activities.

Things I SHOULD KNOW

The fat graft can be absorbed by the body, and some volume or projection could be lost.

It is of foremost importance to be aware of hygiene after surgery to avoid problems with the scar and a longer recovery time.

Drainage is sometimes used, and in some cases, a special cushion could be used to release some of the pressure when in a sitting position.
